Craps Tables and Longer Hours Disappoint
Casinos located in Colorado were allowed to stay open longer hours, and add a few new games to their floors last year, including never before seen Craps and Roulette Tables. The three Mountain towns in Colorado were granted permission to remain open around the clock. Minimum bets were increased by the voters. Where the minimum bet was previously $5 it was raised to $100.
The state expected around $30 million in increased revenue, however, many believe that the casino smoking bans caused a bit of a lag in that number. The casinos did bring in more money, however, revenues only increased by about $9 million, as opposed to earlier projections.
