Gamblers arrested for cheating at 3 Card Poker
The Sands Casino Resort is a popular destination for many gamblers. The casino offers many different gambling options and players come from all over the United States to enjoy the gaming options. Just a few days ago, the Sands was the victim of a casino scam involving two players, one from Turkey and one from England. Sadullah Ozkurt of Turkey and Ozgur Aytekin of England were arrested for cheating the Sands casino in Pennsylvania during a 3 Card Poker game. The two men were caught in the act as they switched cards during game play to produce wins for each player.
The gamblers were able to earn $1,300 by slipping each other cards in less than one hour. Of course exchanging cards is illegal since it gave the men an unfair advantage over the casino. Security was able to catch the men in the act on the video surveillance and the men were quickly taken into custody.
Both men were arrested and soon arraigned by the District Court Judge John Capobianco. The men faced charges of gaming violations as well as theft and conspiracy. Both men were sentenced to $15,000 bail and were taken to the Northampton County Prison.
This is just another instance of why it is not very smart to cheat the casino. Most every time, the cheaters will be caught in the act and if they do happen to get away with it, the casino soon catches on and then uses surveillance footage to eventually catch the cheater.
